How to Sauna: your questions answered
Q. How long is a session?
A. Sessions come in 30 or 60 minute blocks. You will have 20 minutes and 50 minutes, respectively, in the sauna. You will need a few minutes before and after to get changed and use the shower, if necessary. Please arrive early to ensure you get the most out of your session.
Q. What do I need to do to prepare for an infrared sauna therapy session?
A. Arrive fresh and clean, or utilize our shower facilities before your session. Drink lots of fresh water before, during and after your session for most detoxifying results.
Q. Do I wear clothes in the sauna?
A. We recommend you go naked in the sauna for your most liberated and effective experience, however you may wear a bathing suit or underwear, if you prefer. It's your sauna, you decide! Throw a towel on the bench, or wrap it around you and you are good to go. There is plenty of space in the sauna room to change - hooks are available to hang your stuff.
We recommend bringing some loose comfortable clothing to change into after your session. Wrangling a tight pair of jeans on post-sauna can feel a little "much" - trust us, we've tried it.
Q. Does Madre provide towels? Is that extra?
A. We provide you two towels, one handsize, one bath size, included in the price of your sauna. *Shower towels are always included in the price of membership, $3 for non-members.
Q. Anything else I should know?
A. You should never apply oils, soaps, lotions or fragrance of any kind in the sauna. No children or pregnant women in the sauna, please. If you have additional questions, please ask!
